I am having a new box(es) built for my subs (2 12" Orion H2's) does anyone know what direction the box(es) should be facing for maximum SPL, or where they should be located? I used to have a fiberglass box that I had the subs firing up at the glass and it didn't sound loud at all (the box was too small though which was probably most of the problem) then i tilted the box up and had them fire directly backwards and it sounded louder and also increased my SPL by like 1 db. I've been told by many people that in a hatch you want the subs firing up at the glass, though as we all know the style of our cars are nothing like normal hatches so I'm not entirely sure thats the case. If anyone has experimented with their systems and know what would be best for SPL as well as what actually sounds the loudest I would really like to know. I've spent way too much money on my system for it to not sound louder than it does right now. I had about half as much money in my Sentra and it hurt to sit in. Though SPL wise it was actually lower.
